The Trial

The Trial is a brand new, ground-breaking five-part series to be stripped across one week on Channel 4.

In it, a fictional crime will be authentically tried by a team including eminent practicing QCs, a genuine judge and a jury of 12 members of the public. The only actors include the accused – a man who is pleading not guilty for the murder of his wife - the deceased, and some of the witnesses.

Yesterday morning, superstar DJ Sara Cox, completed her epic 24 hour 80s dance challenge, and this morning, Chris Evans announced that Sara has raised £1,071,264 so far, breaking the magic Million Pound barrier.

For 24 hours, Sara threw 80s inspired shapes non-stop to raise cash for Red Nose Day, which is back this Friday. Sara was joined throughout the challenge by a whole host of musicians, dancers and friends, who joined the DJ on the dance floor to show off their own moves. Guests included Dermot O’Leary, Jo Brand, Joe Lycett and Matt Baker, with special live performances from the cast of Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, plus 80s legends Tony Hadley, Level 42, Nik Kershaw and Go West.
